Logistics & Fulfillment Policy
1. Fulfillment and Lead Time Specifications
Aegis Containers operates a high-efficiency fulfillment network designed to move heavy steel equipment with precision. For standard used or new “One-Trip” containers, the typical handling time is 3 to 5 business days. This period allows us to verify the structural integrity, door seals, and floor condition of your specific unit. If your order includes custom modifications—such as paint, electrical kits, or door installs—the lead time will typically add 10 to 21 business days to the schedule. We will provide you with a projected “Ready-for-Transport” date via email within 48 hours of your payment clearing our system.
2. Regional & Domestic Delivery Framework
Our delivery services are categorized by geographic zones to ensure fair and accurate pricing. We utilize specialized tilt-bed trailers, landoll trailers, and crane trucks to place your container exactly where you need it. Our primary service area includes the contiguous United States, with a specialized focus on the Utah and Western regional hubs. We calculate shipping costs based on the total driving distance from our nearest inventory depot to your specified ZIP code. All deliveries are scheduled during daylight hours to ensure the safety of our drivers and the proper placement of the heavy container at your site.
3. Customer Responsibilities for Site Access
The successful delivery of a shipping container requires significant space and site preparation, which is the sole responsibility of the customer. For a 20ft container, our trucks require at least 60 feet of straight-line clearance; for 40ft units, at least 100 to 120 feet of clearance is required. The ground must be level, firm, and capable of supporting the weight of a 30,000lb truck plus the container. If our driver arrives and determines the site is unsafe or inaccessible (due to mud, steep inclines, or low-hanging power lines), the delivery may be aborted and a “Dry Run Fee” will apply.
4. Freight Quote & International Export Policy
For customers located outside of our standard domestic shipping zones, including those in Australia or the UAE, we offer custom “Freight Quotes.” These orders are handled manually by our logistics team to ensure we find the most cost-effective sea-freight or rail-freight solution. Because international rates fluctuate daily, online checkout for these regions is disabled. Instead, customers must submit an inquiry via our “Request a Quote” form. We will provide a formal “Proforma Invoice” including all ocean freight costs, drayage fees, and estimated port handling charges.
5. Order Cancellation and Restocking Protocols
You may cancel your container order for a full refund if the request is received within 24 hours of your purchase. After the initial 24-hour window, but before the container has been loaded onto a truck, a 15% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund. This fee covers the administrative costs and the labor required to move and organize the inventory at the depot. Once the container has left our yard and is “In-Transit,” the order can no longer be canceled. Refusing a delivery for reasons other than major structural damage will result in the customer being responsible for all shipping costs.
6. Return Eligibility and Condition Requirements
All container sales are considered FINAL once the unit is offloaded and signed for at your site. Due to the extreme costs associated with transporting 4,000lb to 10,000lb steel units, we do not offer a “change of mind” return policy. Returns are only considered if the unit delivered is significantly different from the grade ordered (e.g., ordered WWT but received As-Is). In these rare cases, you must document the issues with photos immediately and contact our support team. We do not accept returns on containers that have been modified or painted by the customer after delivery.
7. Damage Claims and Structural Guarantee
Aegis Containers provides a 1-year “Wind and Watertight Guarantee” on all qualifying units. If your container develops a leak due to a structural defect within the first year, we will coordinate a mobile welding repair or provide a repair kit at our discretion. Upon delivery, you must inspect the unit thoroughly. Look for “daylight” through the roof and check the door gaskets. If you find significant structural damage, you must note it on the “Bill of Lading” (BOL) before the driver leaves. Claims made after the driver has departed without a signed note of damage are significantly harder to process.
